Recently found on Facebook, by a user called LentilSouper (known to be part of the Samier clan, and has the username Ibnm on the Monoposto Forum), is this video from Brands Hatch. It’s not very exciting, but it does show me winning, plus you can hear some of the commentary.
Welcome to Dallara398.com

Welcome! Â We compete in the UK’s Monoposto Championship, which is intended to allow older single seater race cars to be used by ordinary people with sensible budgets. In 2007 we began our single seater racing career with a 1998 Reynard 883 Formula 3 car, and learnt very quickly that it’s not easy to be competitive. Championship wins followed in 2008 (Reynard), 2010 and 2011 (Dallara F398), and our next challenge awaits.
- 2012 Calendar’s released provisionally
- Help us design a livery for 2012!!
- My 3rd Championship clinched at Anglesey
- Two more wins – my 8th and 9th of the year – at Brands GP!
- Kourosh Khani, Younes Amiere disqualified for cheating!
- For the first time since 2008, Monoposto returned to Cadwell Park for the sixth and seventh round of the 2011 championship. Last time we were there, I had a decent lead in the championship over Nick Anstruther and Richard Purcell, and in torrentially wet conditions secured pole position in my Reynard 883, and during the [...]

Dallara F304 Initial Test
Our other driver, Tony Bishop, has bought the ex-Phil Moore/Nemesis Racing Dallara F304 for use in MSVR’s F3 Cup, which was formerly ClubF3 (and continues to be called that by most people). It needed a bit of work doing to it – the windscreen was broken, the reverse/neutral lockout cable had seized, the brake caliper seals were leaking etc – and it needed the setup reviewing as there were some very odd choices on the car to begin with.
I was asked by Tony to spend a morning driving the car, evaluating it’s condition, speed and setup. Below is a short video (the only video captured on the day, thanks to a dodgy battery terminal in our GoPro HD camera) showing me driving the Snetterton 300 circuit on Friday 10th June. My best lap was one or two laps after the camera stopped working, and I managed a 1m48.9. Not bad considering it was my first time in the car, the engine and ride height were considerably different, and I’d never driven a sequential racecar before.
Now, I have to say, I want one!
Cadwell Videos
Two videos from Cadwell Park, onboard with me, using a GoPro HD camera mounted to the roll hoop. Data overlay is done with Trackvision software and our Racepak datalogger. Speed is captured via GPS, so it suffers from lag and occasionally over reads, particularly when I hit the brakes and speed keeps rising! Enjoy…
Cadwell Park – Rounds 6/7, May 2011
For the first time since 2008, Monoposto returned to Cadwell Park for the sixth and seventh round of the 2011 championship. Last time we were there, I had a decent lead in the championship over Nick Anstruther and Richard Purcell, and in torrentially wet conditions secured pole position in my Reynard 883, and during the race was ~4 seconds per lap quicker than the rest. However, whilst lapping someone, I put my left wheels onto a river running along the track, lost control, and crashed into the barriers. This brought out the red flags, which awarded my the championship, so it was rather bittersweet.
This time the weather behaved itself mostly, and a good couple of races were had, but the event remained bittersweet in the end.
Our first job was testing. Yet again, I sat out testing from a driving point of view, and concentrated on running my talented team-mate Tony Bishop in his Omicron prepared Dallara F397. He had never visited Cadwell before, so it was important to get some track time to learn the track, scrub in tyres, and find a good setup for the meeting…

Gentleman’s Agreement
I have decided to keep out of the various discussions going on in the world of Monoposto – whether or not Yunous Amiere is the next Michael Schumacher; whether BARC Formula Renault is a championship for career drivers that aren’t good enough to get to Formula 3; whether not liking Lewis Hamilton (because he’s overrated) and Samier makes me a racist; or whether a Formula Renault without a restrictor would be competitive or unbeatable (clearly the latter, all other things being equal).
Instead I want to set the record straight regarding the so called Gentlemen’s Agreement that was discussed in 2009, as it seems to be the source of several misunderstandings by people that were nothing to do with it and by people that claim to have discussed the matter with those involved directly.

People I’ve annoyed this week without trying to
Kourosh Khani’s manager has written this. It was posted on TenTenths, but deleted by moderators pretty quickly. Clearly he’s been helped by Samier, as the words are almost identical to his, but that’s hardly surprising.

I might not know you in person, but your comments seem to have circulated the internet very well including on your website and race related forums. http://www.dallara398.com/2011/05/br…s-45-may-2011/
You have made various unpleasant comments about Kourosh Khani on the Monoposto forum including your website following last weekends Monoposto 2000 race. You clearly felt the need to undermine and ridicule the driving ability of an experienced and fast competitor. To claim that he was weaving aggressively or punting off other drivers is surprising. The race officials did not have any issues so as far as I am concerned there is no issus and his driving was well within the rules.
To be a racing driver you need to drive hard and within the rules. I think you have not learnt much in the way of racecraft in your 4 years in Monoposto. But your ego has clearly been boosted having won races
and now you think you are a Monoposto Demi god. I find it incredible that you have the cheek to criticise others when your own driving has a lot to be desired. You say that you have beaten worth champions, Having looked at your website the only real challenge you had was from Mr Timms, in his Dallara which from looking at the videos at Croft and Silverstone that was clearly down to a power advantage which again was created by turning your back on a gentlemans agreement at the end of 2009.
I am all too aware also of the politics that is currently ongoing in Monoposto. The powers to be having their own agenda and vested interests in keeping the Dallaras out in front.
I challenge you to come and race in BARC and pitch yourself against a fast driver so you can demonstrate your superior Monoposto skills. If the competition is too overwhelming, why not try MSVR Club F3 at least you can race the car which you have been intimate with for the last 2 years.”
